Ugwu Charity Chioma started her fashion journey from her home in Jos, Plateau State, sewing clothes for family and friends. She had the skill and passion, but her business lacked structure, visibility, and a clear path for growth. Most of her customers came through referrals, and her online presence was irregular, making it difficult to reach new audiences.
Today, she is the founder of Chommy’s Couture Hub, a fashion brand dedicated to creating custom outfits and bridal wear that help women feel confident. She serves a growing customer base across Nasarawa, Abuja, and Plateau, and is gradually building a name for her brand.
Her turning point came when she joined the WE-Elevate program after learning about it through a WhatsApp community. Through the program, Charity gained practical knowledge in digital marketing, branding, and business structuring. She also formalized her business through CAC registration and accessed a grant that supported her in upgrading her tools and improving how she presents her work.
With these changes, her business began to take a new shape. She rebranded Chommy’s Couture Hub, improved her packaging, invested in better content creation, and became more consistent online. She also moved from guesswork pricing to a more structured system that accounts for her costs and ensures sustainability.
The results have been clear. Her online presence has grown, she now attracts new customers through her content, and her sales have improved. What was once a small home-based operation is now a business with direction and intention.
Beyond the numbers, Charity’s confidence has grown. She now engages more openly, connects with others, and shows up as a business owner who understands her value.
