Building a business often begins with passion, but sustaining and growing it requires structure, guidance, and access to the right opportunities. For Princess Ulasi, founder of LOLA AFRICANA and Lola Ushering Services and Events, the CFYE x Shecluded Program became a turning point in transforming her business into a more structured and growth-focused enterprise.
LOLA AFRICANA is a sustainable afrocentric brand redefining African prints through sophistication, luxury, and style, while Lola Ushering Services and Events provides event support services including protocol staffing and crowd control.
Before joining the program, Princess struggled with inventory management, financial tracking, and long-term business planning. Like many entrepreneurs, there was little separation between her personal and business finances, and she had not yet built clear operational systems.
Everything began to change after she joined the Shecluded community through programs like CFYE x Shecluded and We Elevate. The experience exposed her to practical business training, mentorship, and a supportive network that encouraged intentional growth and leadership.
Through the program, she implemented a proper inventory management system, improved financial tracking, and learned the importance of separating personal and business funds. Shecluded also facilitated her CAC registration, helping formalize her business. Access to a low-interest loan enabled her to launch new collections, while grant opportunities introduced through the program led to her winning two grants.
“I didn’t see the loan as debt,” Princess shared. “I saw it as a seed from the chief farmer, ready to grow and be harvested.”
After the program, she opened a corporate account and began depositing daily sales directly into the business account to improve accountability and financial discipline.
Beyond business operations, the program strengthened her confidence, leadership, and decision-making as an entrepreneur. Reflecting on her experience, Princess described Shecluded as “an empowerment impact movement.”
