Binta Bilal, founder of Binta Farm Fresh Foods, is on a mission to improve food access while empowering local farmers. Her business produces staple crops like sweet potato, cassava, vegetables, and pepper, promoting healthier communities.

In 2025, she joined Shecluded’s Challenge Fund for Youth Employment (CFYE) Program, a step that transformed her business journey.

From Idea to Structure

Before CFYE, Binta’s business was still evolving. The program equipped her with practical knowledge in business structure, record keeping, and compliance, leading her to formally register her business with the Corporate Affairs Commission.
“The clarity I gained allowed me to take intentional steps to strengthen my business foundation,” she says.

Visibility, Support, and Growth

Through CFYE, Binta gained increased visibility and built valuable connections with other women entrepreneurs. The program’s training, mentorship, and grant support played a key role in her growth. Winning the grant, her first major funding, enabled her to expand operations, while expert guidance helped refine her pricing and marketing strategies.

Challenges and Progress

Despite growth, challenges remain. Limited irrigation means reliance on seasonal farming, which Binta is actively working to overcome in order to achieve year-round production.
Still, her progress is clear:
Increased revenue and efficiency
Expanded team from 5 to 10 staff
Growing customer demand, with some on a waitlist

The Power of Community

Beyond business gains, Binta highlights the impact of the Shecluded community. The support, shared learning, and inspiration from other women entrepreneurs have strengthened her confidence and commitment to growth

Conclusion

Binta’s journey shows how the right support can turn potential into real impact. Through CFYE, she has built a stronger business while contributing to food security and community development, proving that empowering women creates lasting change.
