In July 2023, Shecluded was selected as an Implementing Partner for the Challenge Fund for Youth Employment (CFYE), an initiative to reduce youth unemployment across regions like West Africa. With a particular focus on empowering young women, CFYE provides innovative, scalable solutions that create decent work opportunities. Shecluded’s contribution to this effort is through the FINWOMEN project, a groundbreaking program designed to equip women with the skills, resources, and financial support needed to succeed as entrepreneurs and job creators.
The FINWOMEN project takes a holistic approach to empowerment by focusing on unemployed women, early-stage businesses, and existing women-led enterprises. Through training, mentorship, financial literacy, and access to funding, women are empowered to build successful companies that contribute to economic growth. The program also ensures that participants have access to market linkages, creating opportunities for expansion beyond local communities.
During its first year, the FINWOMEN project achieved remarkable results. Over 1,800 women received comprehensive training on business modeling, marketing strategies, financial management, and tech tools for business. A hybrid training approach was adopted, offering both virtual and in-person sessions across Nigeria, ensuring accessibility for women from underserved areas. Additionally, participants received mentorship and post-training support to guide them through regulatory compliance, grant writing, and business development.
The FINWOMEN project’s success lies in its community-driven approach, market linkages, and financial empowerment. As Shecluded moves into Year 2, the focus will be on scaling the program to reach more women, enhancing financial access, and building sustainable pathways for women entrepreneurs to thrive in Nigeria and beyond. Through these initiatives, Shecluded continues to pave the way for a brighter future for women in business.
